Bronchitis

Bronchitis occurs when an infection causes the airways in the lungs called the bronchi to become irritated and inflamed. Bronchitis also leads to an increase in mucus production and a cough. Bronchitis can be either acute or chronic: Acute usually lasting up to three weeks, whereas chronic bronchitis can last up to three months of the year, for at least two years. In most cases, bronchitis is caused by the same viruses that cause the common cold or the flu, and will eventually go away on its own. However, if you notice your symptoms last more than one week, or are particularly severe, it is a good idea to receive medical care. Rely on SickDay to easily book an appointment online or over the phone in order to relieve or treat bronchitis.
